Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund: Der Professionalisierungsprozess der deutschen Physiotherapie ist naturgemäß mit
der Frage nach vermehrter beruflicher Autonomie verknüpft. Mit der berufspolitischen
Diskussion um die Einführung des Patient Self-referral in Deutschland besteht auch
die Forderung, die Kompetenzen deutscher Physiotherapeuten zu erweitern und an internationale
Standards anzupassen.
Ziel: Entwicklung eines Analyseverfahrens zur Ermittlung des Bildungsbedarfs deutscher
Physiotherapeuten in Vorbereitung auf die Anforderungen im Patient Self-referral.
Methode: Unter Verwendung verschiedener repräsentativer internationaler und nationaler Richtlinien
zur physiotherapeutischen Ausbildung wurde ein spezifisches Verfahren zur Analyse
des Bildungsbedarfs entwickelt und exemplarisch angewendet.
Ergebnisse: Das entwickelte Analyseverfahren deckte Bildungsdefizite in den Bereichen der Fach-
und personalen Kompetenz auf. Der Hauptanteil identifizierter Bildungsdefizite besteht
hinsichtlich der neuen Anforderungen wie Diagnosestellung oder Einleitung angemessener
Überweisungsprozesse.
Schlussfolgerungen: Die Studie unterstreicht den Bedarf nach einheitlichen Ausbildungsstandards in der
deutschen Physiotherapie und der Formulierung eines verbindlichen Kompetenzprofils.
Das Analyseverfahren ist eine Möglichkeit zur Darstellung des Ist-Zustands deutscher
Physiotherapeuten und liefert die Grundlage zur Vermittlung fehlender Kompetenzen,
die sich an internationalen Standards orientieren.
Abstract
Background: The professionalization process of German physiotherapy is associated with the demand
for extending professional autonomy. Job policy discussions concerning the implementation
of patient self-referral in Germany coincide with the call for the extended competence
of German physiotherapists and to achieve international standards.
Objective: Developing an analytic process to identify German physiotherapists’ educational needs
preliminary to the demands of patient self-referral.
Methods: A specific method to analyse German physiotherapists’ educational needs was developed
and exemplarily employed by using different representative international and national
guidelines for physiotherapy education.
Results: The newly developed analytic method revealed education deficits in the field of professional
and personal competence. The main part of identified education is related to the new
demands such as assessment or employing appropriate referral procedures.
Conclusions: This study emphasizes the need for consistent physiotherapy educational standards
in Germany as well as an obligatory competence profile. The analytic method provides
one means of portraying the actual state of German physiotherapists and renders the
basis for the transfer of insufficient competence based on international standards.
